Some Introductions Are In Order...

Hey there!  I’m so glad you’ve stumbled across my little corner of the internet. My name is Heather and I’m 23 years old. I am a recent college graduate who is taking a year off while working as a nursing assistant.  In August I will start the long, daunting path to becoming a physician as a first year medical student. I have an unyielding obsession with all things girly, pink, and glittery but I am also a self-proclaimed (and proud) nerd with a love for books, history, and science.

I decided to start a blog after being a long time reader of several fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blogs. Reading these blogs has become a great way to connect with so many interesting people and has left me wanting to add my own story into the mix.  We can learn so much from each other just by sharing our experiences and I am thrilled to finally be joining the blogosphere!

At Pretty Strong Medicine, I’m going to combine two important journeys I am currently on: becoming a healthier, stronger version of myself and fulfilling my goal of becoming a physician- all while enjoying life as a twenty-something!

My biggest hope for this blog is to have something to look back on years down the road that documents my experiences in medical school and beyond in an honest and genuine way.  I can guarantee that when you read my blog, you are going to get the real me.  This includes the fact that I am a little goofy, probably not as funny as I think I am, and even a little insecure. Even if no one but me, myself, and I reads this silly thing, I want to give an accurate portrayal of this stage of my life.

I also hope to connect with others and build a strong support network.  Whether you are a future med student, on a fitness journey of your own, or even just a girly girl like me, I want to talk to you, get to know you, or just hear what you have to say!

With that said...please make yourself comfortable, stay awhile, and get ready because you’re about to get a dose of some Pretty Strong Medicine!
